My Musical Story
I am the Dean of the School of Music at Cairn University in Langhorne, PA and Director of Worship Ministries at Riverstone Church in Yardley, PA. I also teach piano and other music courses at Cairn.
My parents were so supportive of me in pursuing a career in music. I am so grateful to them for their love and sacrifice to make this now possible.
I grew in Dipper Harbour, New Brunswick, Canada - a small fishing village on the Bay of Fundy. My grandmother taught us to play so that one day we could play hymns in church.
My journey in education brought me to Cairn University where I studied piano which led me to pursue a Masters degree and Professional Studies certificate in Piano Performance from Manhattan School of Music, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from the University of Maryland, College Park. My primary piano teachers include Juanita Spragg, Carol O’Neil, Samuel Hsu, Nina Svetlanova, and Bradford Gowen.
After years of committed study and practice, I continue to explore music in many genres. I grew up listening and playing blue grass, gospel music, folks music and of course classical music. I love it all and want to share in this music with audiences.
